What is hdpe geomembrane biogas digester?

Black hdpe geomembrane biogas digester is a super large biogas digester that integrates fermentation and gas storage. Its treatment principle is the same as other anaerobic fermentation processes, mainly through the metabolic function of anaerobic bacteria. In an air isolation environment, the organic matter in feces and sewage is degraded to produce biogas (the main component is methane). In fact, the construction of black hdpe geomembrane biogas digesters start with civil engineering. The foundation must be flat without any stones, tree roots, etc. It will damage the hdpe liner geomembrane if the foundation not done well. What to do when the effluent pipe of the black HDPE geomembrane biogas digester project is blocked

The cost of the black HDPE geomembrane biogas digester project is low. However, over time, some minor issues may arise, causing a lot of trouble during the actual usage process for the owners. Today, the manufacturer of the black HDPE geomembrane biogas digester conducted in-depth research on the issue of the effluent pipe. Currently, the water level control of many black HDPE geomembrane biogas digesters is achieved by adjusting the height of the effluent pipe. However, due to the presence of bends, it is prone to blockages. After an in-depth study of the sewage pipe, it has been found that blockages can occur. Therefore, it is not recommended for owners to directly connect the drainage pipe to the slurry tank. To resolve the blockage, the bend should be cut off, mainly addressing the blockage in the bend. Steel bars can be used to remove salt crystals, and the problem will be solved.

Possible soil conditions encountered during the construction of a black HDPE geomembrane biogas digester:
Soft soil: Due to the soft soil, even excavating a relatively firm foundation is not sufficient. In such cases, the slope of the black HDPE geomembrane biogas digester should not be too steep to prevent collapse. A slope of 30-35 degrees is considered suitable.
Excessive rocks: If there are many rocks, especially limestone, they need to be broken down using blasting machines. It is recommended to spread a layer of 30-50 cm thick topsoil after breaking the rocks and compact it. Before laying the geomembrane, a 400g non-woven geotextile fabric can be placed on top.
Conversion of existing ponds: Before draining the water, it is advisable to check the weather conditions. If there has been no rain in the past ten days or so, the pond can be drained. Then, using a 300-type excavator, remove the accumulated sediment from the upper part of the pond and let it dry nearby. Afterward, excavate the soil from the bottom and gradually shape it.
Simple soil conditions: Some areas may have good soil conditions, such as loess or sandy soil. However, when excavating and constructing slopes, caution should still be exercised, and the slope angle should not exceed 50 degrees. Compaction and leveling can be performed on the slope surface and the bottom of the black HDPE geomembrane biogas digester.

It mainly relies on anaerobic microorganisms to degrade organic substrates and partially convert them into energy gases. It has the characteristics of low engineering cost, low operationaly expenses, resistance to impact loads, high wastewater treatment efficiency, and high biogas production. Currently, it is widely used in wastewater treatment in the livestock farming industry. In summary, the black HDPE geomembrane biogas digester offers ‘low investment and good results.’

Selection and Welding Process of HDPE Biogas Tank Black Film

The anti-seepage membrane of biogas digesters, commonly known as black membrane or biogas digester black geomembrane, which is the decisive factor in determining the environmental protection effect of biogas digesters. The leakage of biogas digester geomembrane can cause the entire project abandoned. The biogas digester black film is made from high-quality polyethylene pure resin, mainly composed of 97.5% high density polyethylene, about 2.5% carbon black, anti-aging agent, antioxidant, ultraviolet absorber, stabilizer and other auxiliary materials. The hdpe sheet is produced by blow molding process according to GRI standards and ASTM test standards.

How to choose the top geomembrane film and bottom hdpe film?
Firstly, the top layer of the biogas digester geomembrane is easy to age degrade when exposed to wind or sunlight. Therefore, it is recommended to choose at least the GM 13 standard geomembrane with thickness of 1.5mm even thicker like 2.0mm for their excellent aging resistance. This type of geomembrane is also produced by the blow molding process, and its strength and other properties are far superior to black films produced by ordinary coating.
Generally speaking, for the bottom membrane, it is recommended to use at least 1.0mm 1.2mm, 1.5mm ,2.0mm thickness geomembrane due to the coverage of sewage and the protection of the top hdpe membrane liner.

The welding of anti-seepage HDPE geomembrane sheet is now commonly used with hot melt welding machines, also known as double track welding machines and extrusion welding machines. For large-scale welding of anti-seepage hdpe black geomembrane, double track hot melt welding machines are used to form double welds and an inflatable cavity. For areas that cannot be welded by a dual track welding machine, a extrusion fusion welding machine should be used, accompanied by the same welding rod as the raw material, to form a single weld seam for overlay welding. The temperature of the welding machine is 280-350 ℃. Before welding, make a sample welding first. After the test welding is qualified, start the formal welding. When welding, recheck the overlap width of the anti-seepage hdpe black membrane and ensure that the overlap range is clean, free of foreign objects or anything else that may affect the welding. There are two welding seams within the width range of the joint (double insurance), with each seam width not less than 10cm. The HDPE geomembrane film at the welding seam is fused into a whole, and there should be no false welding or over welding. The two layers of liners connected should be overlapped flat and smooth.
